The bit that gets me is this - "I noticed this woman who was wearing plum-coloured clothes, and I said to myself 'That's a bit odd' "

How odd is it, really?

Well - I drove past a woman in the street a couple of days ago and she was wearing a bright yellow onesie. Seriously yellow. She was like ambulatory custard.
I said to myself "Jesus, would you look at that?" and then thought nothing more of it.

Until later that night, when I put the telly on and was confronted with the Children in Need fundraiser, at which point it dawned on me that the woman had actually been wearing a Pudsey Bear outfit.

So what was odd about a purple jumper? No way would I have remembered that, or probably even registered it.

Presumably the oddness was in what she was, or was not doing, rather than what she was wearing.

It seems all bar one McCann supporter that I have seen so far, are not prepared to criticize the Ufologist/crime researcher who appears unable to apologize for his inept stupidity.

I wouldn't have put that in those terms, but he has done himself no service at all.

Perhaps he would like to post on here with his theories.

I know some of his fellows on here are reading this forum, so they can pass on the invitation.

To confirm what games police can play.

"They appealed for information about a grey or silver car - Pacteau had a grey Ford Focus - seen driving around the roads between Milngavie and Drymen, north of the city, between 11am and 3pm on the Monday but they did not link it to Pacteau and repeatedly stressed he was not a suspect.

It was almost as if the police were trying to lull him into a false sense of security that he was not the focus of their investigation, even though he was the last confirmed person to have seen the missing woman alive when he walked beside her outside the nightclub."

"A sniffer dog used to seek out cadavers confirmed a body had been in Pacteau’s car and forensic tests established it had been that of Ms Buckley."

Well the story is still in the tabloid press, but the quality papers seem to be ignoring Heriberto's fake trail.

Not hard to see why.

I'm not Madeleine McCann case "woman in purple"

I'm not Madeleine McCann case "woman in purple" insists waitress after criminologist's claim

After a criminologist identified Luisa Todorov as the mystery women police are said to be searching for, she claims to have "no idea about" any such person

By Martin Fricker
22:04, 23 NOV 2017 UPDATED 22:10, 23 NOV 2017

The hunt continues for the “woman in purple” in the Madeleine McCann probe after a waitress whose name came up insisted: “It wasn’t me.”

A criminologist claimed to have identified Luisa Todorov as the mystery person police are said to be searching for.

And we discovered she lives less than a mile from Praia da Luz in the Algarve, where Maddie disappeared.

Luisa, 58, was working at the resort where the McCanns were staying. But she insisted she is not the woman in purple and has not been approached by Scotland Yard detectives.

She told the Mirror: “I’ve no idea about any woman in purple. It wasn’t me. I spoke to the police a long time ago about the Madeleine case.

“I don’t really want to talk about it, nobody around here does, it brings back lots of bad memories.

“Nobody knows what happened to her. If the British police want to speak to me that’s fine, but I don’t know anything.”

Two separate witnesses saw the mystery woman in purple standing outside the apartment where three-year-old Maddie was snatched in May 2007.

Criminologist Heriberto Janosch Gonzalez recently named the woman as Luisa, who now uses her maiden name Camara on social media.

The restaurant worker, originally from Madeira, gave a statement to Portuguese police five days after Maddie’s disappearance, along with husband Stefan, 50.

He also worked at the Ocean Club resort, in the kitchens, and is believed to have returned to his native Bulgaria without being quizzed again.

Both strenuously deny any involvement in Maddie’s abduction and were only interviewed as potential witnesses. The youngster’s parents Kate and Gerry McCann , from Rothley, Leics, have never given up hope of finding their daughter, who would now be 14.

They were dining with friends in a restaurant near the apartment when she vanished from a ground-floor bedroom.

Despite a massive police investigation, there have been no confirmed sightings of Maddie in more than a decade

Officers have made no arrests, despite investigating 60 people of interest and taking more than 1,300 witness statements. More than 500 lines of enquiry have been probed and areas of Praia da Luz dug up in the search for clues.

Scotland Yard’s Operation Grange was massively scaled back in 2015. There are now four detectives working on the case.

In September it emerged £154,000 in Home Office funding had been granted to continue the £12million probe for another six months.

I wonder what a certain Criminologist will have to say about this.

Maybe even apologize.

Now that would be a novelty.

...and now in the mail.

Waitress DENIES she is the 'woman in purple' being hunted by Madeleine McCann investigators

A 'woman in purple' is keeping Operation Grange alive - the search for Maddie

She was seen by British expat Jenny Murat before the youngster went missing

Criminologist Heriberto Janosch Gonzalez cited her as Luisa Todorov, 48

But the former resort worker has 'already spoken to police and knows nothing'

So Criminologist Heriberto, where is your apology to this lady ?

...and what exactly are your qualifications in regard to investigating criminal cases ?

If the woman in purple is the only thing keeping the investigation going, it should all be over by Christmas as they know where she lives.

B/S of course, as there will always be a 'last lead' as long as the money is forthcoming.

The latest Mcgarbage printed by the Metro sums up the weird policy of the press in this area, which is 'we know it's cobblers, but we're going to print it anyway'.

The 'story' in question is "Woman reckons she could be Madeleine McCann because of her eye".

Now, this trashy article contains two contradictory sentences:

"we have to admit that some of the evidence is fairly compelling"

"However, there's a crucial reason why Harriet can't be Madeleine.  When Madeleine disappeared in Portugal in 2007, she was just three and would be 14 now, while Harriet is a university student".

Just what is it about this case that makes 'journalists' and 'newspapers' willing to make themselves look so stupid? How can something be "fairly compelling" when at the same time they point out why it can't be true?

And they wonder why their circulation figures are in terminal decline...

Just had a quick look.

It appears she did it as a joke and some 'newspapers' took it seriously.

i.e. A case of spot the brain cell..................

Has anyone found anything else on this individual ?

I assumed he was just another of those experts who always rise to the surface in cases like this. Don't the media have their own registers of their favourite "Dr Bobs",  "Major Toms" and "Josie Doodahs PhD" to wheel out to give the media's own slant some kind of crediblity ?
I couldn't take this one seriously after "The Incident Of The Kidnapped Bolster".

You shouldn't be too quick to judge-Bolsters have a right t be protected from kidnappers, and I am sure the bolster was a great likeness of a sleeping child...

People like him really should be cuffed and gagged and sent down for wasting police time and causing havoc with innocent peoples lives!

More unintentional comedy from the Express, which this time reports "Scotland Yard confirmed this week more funding was secured for Operation Orange"!
